Kousha’s video work, which has appeared in places like PBS, NPR, and WNYC — on YouTube, TV, Instagram, and more. Below, you can see full episodes of the videos highlighted in this reel.

Right before Thanksgiving, Kousha asked listeners to do an experiment with him live on WNYC: open up YouTube, search for the word “Patriot,” and send him their search results. There were some conspicuous differences in results. That’s the “filter bubble” in action. Hari Sreenivasan asked Kousha to do the experiment with him on the PBS/WNET digital series Take on Fake. Kousha also introduces the concept through one of his guilty pleasures: watching restoration videos on YouTube.

For Notes from America, Kousha created a series for Instagram, YouTube and TikTok called “On the Map.” In this series, he threw a dart at a homemade map. Wherever the dart landed, he found a story about that place and how it contributed to the personality of the country. In this video, he talks about scientist Katherine Johnson and how Marion, Virginia contributed to outer space. Other videos in the series include St. Croix, Wisconsin’s “big drum” healing ceremonies and the secession movement in Plumas County, California.

Kousha hosts a live panel discussion about the outlook and impact of NFTs in the arts, especially for artists of color.

XTC is the world’s largest social innovation competition for startups addressing global challenges. Originally planned as an in-person program, COVID-19 demanded a fast pivot for the Global Finals to be a fully digital experience. Kousha was the Executive Producer. In collaboration with major corporations, startups, and a remote production staff stationed around the world, this show released on a 12-week production timeline from concept to execution.
